Chief Instructor

​Sensei Mike Dignam is the chief instructor at Nishikawa and has trained in martial arts for over 40 years. Mike is a 2nd Dan black belt and holds a level 3 instructors licence from the Japanese Karate Association England and has full DBS clearance to work with children and vulnerable adults.

Mike started Karate aged 9 training in the Wado Ryu Style but later moving to Shotokan to study under the lengendary Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda at (the also legendary) Marshall Street Dojo in London. He now trains under the head of the JKA England, Sensei Yoshinobu Ohta at the Budokwai in South Kensington as well as attending national and international courses, including the Kan Geiko winter training at the Sohonbu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan.
